Compliments, Concerns & Complaints
At Community Midwives of Kingston, we are committed to providing safe, respectful, and compassionate care. We recognize that, despite our best efforts, there may be times when your experience does not meet your expectations.
We welcome your feedback—whether it is a compliment, a suggestion, or a concern. Hearing about your experiences helps us celebrate what we do well and identify opportunities to improve the care we provide.
If You Have a Concern
If you have a concern about your care, we encourage you to speak with your midwife directly, as many concerns can be resolved through open communication. If your concerns remain unresolved, you may contact our Quality Assurance and Complaints Midwife by emailing administrator@kingstonmidwives.ca.
What Happens Next?
When we receive a complaint, we will:
Acknowledge that we have received your concern.
With your consent we review the relevant health record and any other information related to your care.
Speak with the midwife or midwives involved to better understand your experience of care.
Offer you the opportunity to meet with the Quality Assurance and Complaints Midwife and/or the midwife involved, if you wish.
The purpose of this review is to ensure that your concerns are heard, that we understand what happened, and that we identify opportunities for reflection, learning, and improvement.
Depending on the circumstances, our review may result in changes to practice processes, additional education, or other quality improvement initiatives.
Our Commitment
We understand that raising concerns can be difficult. We are committed to approaching every complaint with respect, openness, and a focus on learning.
Our goal is not only to address your concerns, but also to continually improve the care we provide for all families.
